Box Score Friday's match played true to form, as the OUA-leading McMaster Marauders comfortably sailed past the winless RMC Paladins in straight sets.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-13 and 25-16 for the CIS no. 2-ranked Marauders, who improved to 16-1 in conference play with the victory. Meanwhile, the Paladins remain without a match win on the season, and have secured just five of their 56 sets played.
Jori Mantha and Danny Demyanenko starred for the Marauders, with Mantha leading all scorers with a total of 15 points on Friday. The fourth-year outside converted on 11 of 17 hitting attempts versus just one error (58.8 per cent) and added four aces. Demyanenko also broke into double digits, making good on seven of his eight attempts and contributing two solo blocks and one ace.
On a dominant night, the Marauders hit for 33.3 per cent as a team and outscored the Paladins 58-18 in points earned.
McMaster returns to action on Saturday, as the Marauders conclude their Kingston road trip with a contest against the Queen's Gaels. That match is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m.
