McMaster made the most of its final game of the 2014 season on Saturday, rotating players while scoring at will in a 64-0 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues at Back 10 Field.
With the win, the Marauders finished with the best record in the OUA, and sealed the top seed in the Russell Division. McMaster will have home field advantage throughout the conference playoffs.
Playing the winless Varsity Blues, the Marauders substituted regulars out of the lineup early and often, but showed no sign of slowing down. The home side carried a 19-0 lead into the halftime break, and introduced several new players, with Kailyn Jones taking over kicking duties from Stephanie Black.
The rout was on, and Jones kicked perfectly for much of the second half, before being substituted herself. Maddy Seatle finally brought the scoring to an end with her second try of the afternoon, and Sara Svoboda successfully converted it for 64-0.
McMaster now looks ahead to the playoffs, where their journey will begin at home on Friday, October 10 when they play host to the York Lions in an OUA quarterfinal at Ron Joyce Stadium.
