RICCIUTI'S LATE GOAL SEES MARAUDERS PAST BADGERS 1-0

Sasha Ricciuti's first goal of the season couldn't have come at a better time for the Marauders.

The second-year striker broke the scoreless deadlock in the 80th minute, and McMaster beat the Brock Badgers 1-0 in St. Catharines on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Marauders (7-1-2) retook second position in the OUA West standings, overtaking the Guelph Gryphons.

Angelo Cavalluzzo was only called into action twice between the McMaster posts, but kept the team's seventh clean sheet of the season.

Scoring chances were few and far between on Wednesday, as the two teams combined for just six shots on goal.

But Ricciuti found the cutting edge that the teams had lacked just 10 minutes before stoppage time, and his teammates successfully held any comeback attempt at bay.

McMaster will now return home to Ron Joyce Stadium, where the Marauders will play their final home matches of the regular season against the Laurier Golden Hawks and York Lions on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 respectively. Those matches are scheduled to kick off at 3:15 p.m.
