QUEBEC CITY- Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) handed out the individual awards for the 2012-13 men’s volleyball season on Wednesday night in Quebec City and three McMaster Marauders garnered some accolades.

Marauder players Dany Demyanenko and Austin Campion-Smith were both honoured as second-team All-Canadians, while Demyanenko was also named the CIS Rookie of the Year. 

A member of the OUA All-Rookie team in 2011, Campion-Smith garnered his first All-Canadian berth, to go along with his earlier selection as a 2013 first-team OUA all-star.

Demyanenko follows up his OUA top rookie award with the CIS version and joins Campion-Smith on both the All-Canadian second team and the OUA first-team all-star list.

In addition, McMaster Coach Dave Preston was recognized as the 2013 CIS Coach of the Year.  This is the second time Coach Preston has received this recognition, having previously been CIS Coach of the Year in 2008.

The Marauders open the tournament on Friday at 12:30 p.m. versus the UNB Varsity Reds.  The match will be webcast live at www.CIS-SIC.tv
