Following the initial announcement of a stellar group of defensive recruits that have committed to don the Maroon & Grey, the McMaster Football program is excited to unveil some new additions to the complement of players that have made the decision to become Marauders in 2012.
An additional nine players are joining the 14 that were previously announced; to make up an impressive group of recruits to date, that will challenge the returning incumbents for playing time and provide outstanding depth for the defending Vanier Cup Champion Marauders.
With a healthy stock of returning players, McMaster Head Coach Stef Ptaszek says the focus of 2012 recruiting has been more about quality than quantity, “There are some great play-makers both offensively and defensively in this group, some very exciting and talented young men, and we can’t wait to start working with them on the field.”
Marauder Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Jon Behie emphasizes the quality of this year’s commits, adding, “These are the right kind of players in every sense. They are terrific students as well as being outstanding football players.”
The Marauder staff remains involved with several talented players that have yet to finalize their post-secondary plans, so the 2012 recruiting class may yet have some additions in the coming weeks.
