Guelph, Ont. - The McMaster Marauders will not compete at the OUA Women's Rugby Finals next weekend as they were defeated by the No. 2 nationally-ranked Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon. 

The Gryphons shut out the Marauders from any points the entire match, and would go on to score 36 points in each half for a total of 72.

Fullback Caitlin McNally scored a game high 20 points on four tries in the game. Centre Brittany Benn scored three tries and lock Caitlin Beaton scored the remaining two for the Gryphons. Three converts that went through the posts came from Shannon Spurrell. 

The Marauders will now play for the OUA women's rugby bronze medal next Saturday against a team to be determined later this afternoon.
