MARAUDER PAST AND FUTURE ON DISPLAY AT CELEBRATION OF SPORT

McMaster University’s Department of Athletics & Recreation is excited to announce the first annual McMaster Celebration of Sport Dinner and Concert to be held Friday September 30, 2011 in the Sport Hall of the David Braley Athletic Centre.

This new event has been created to celebrate the history and traditions of Marauder Athletics, to bolster alumni and community relations, to build a legacy for future generations of McMaster student-athletes, and to kick-off our Homecoming Weekend on a grand scale.

The Celebration of Sport Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. with an action packed reception. Current Marauders & the McMaster Marching Band will host the evening welcoming all McMaster Athletics & Recreation Supporters. Guests are invited to mingle with old friends or meet new friends prior to the annual McMaster Athletic Hall of Fame awards induction ceremony The festivities will include a keynote address by well known Canadian Football League icon Mike “Pinball” Clemons, who remains one of Canada’s most popular athletes and is a well-regarded motivational speaker.

Following the Dinner(around 10 p.m.)the party continues with a concert in the Burridge Gymnasium featuring one of Canada’s hottest musical acts, The Arkells, coming home to Hamilton and McMaster, where the band got its start. The concert is a joint initiative between McMaster Athletics & Recreation and the McMaster Student Union.
