Hamilton, Ont. - The McMaster women's rugby team finished off the regular season strong with a win over the Trent Excalibur. The 48-12 win secured their spot for first place in the Russell Division in the OUA. 

Marauder Cindy Nelles (Belleville, Ont.) scored a game high 16 points for McMaster with two tries and three converts in the game. Maggie Cogger-Orr (Thornhill, Ont.) also scored a convert for the Marauders. 

Claire Lockhart (Waterloo, Ont.) and Hannah Braithwaite (Kingston, Ont.) each scored two tries in the winning effort for a combined 20 points. Victoria Swatsky (Cobourg, Ont.) and Sarah Berry (East York, Ont.) added to the score for the Marauders with a tie each as well.

Playoffs begin October 15 for women's rugby. The Marauders will host the fourth place team in the Russel Division, the Toronto Varsity Blues, who they previous beat 69-7.
