St. Catharines, Ont. - The McMaster men's lacrosse season came to an end on Saturday afternoon. In the first round of the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA), the Brock Badgers were matched up against the Marauders and earned the win 13-3.
Scoring was low in the first quarter as Brock opened up the scoring and then McMaster's Cam Murphy (Fergus, Ont.) would tie it up to end the first 20 minutes 1-1.
In the second quarter is when Brock would start to pull away with the lead. Scoring three goals before Marauder Michael Dawson (Hamilton, Ont.) responded, the Badgers scored two more to go up 6-2 at half time.
The third quarter saw the Badgers shut down the Marauders and score five of their own for the 11-2 lead. Sean Deuchars (Toronto) would score McMaster's last goal of their 2011 season in the fourth quarter but the Badgers would advance to the next round of CUFLA playoffs.
The Marauders end their season with a 4-5 record in the regular season and have been eliminated from playoffs.
