The first-year Hamilton native made McMaster history at the OUA Wrestling Championships, becoming the first Marauder female wrestler to win the OUA Rookie of the Year award since its inception in 2008.

Stinellis announced herself at her first OUA Championships appearance by pinning all three of her pool opponents to cruise into the 48kg final. She got the better of Lakehead’s Megan Smith, York’s Gurleen Tak and former medalist Christine Grafe of Western before meeting veteran Natassya Lu of Guelph in the final.

There, the young Marauder was scoring well before being caught in a pin by her more experienced opponent, and came away with silver.

Hers was one of two silver medals won by Mac on the women's side, as the group finished fifth in the team standings.
