Two short weeks after besting Brock's Tyler Rowe to win OUA gold, Ahmed Shamiya did the same on the national stage Saturday.

The Marauder veteran defended his CIS title in the 72kg weight class by besting Rowe yet again, the same opponent that he faced at the 2015 event in Alberta. His was Mac's only gold medal at the CIS Championships, as the Mac men validated their no. 2 ranking in the country by winning team silver with a final point tally of 52.
