Mills and Robichaud named TwelvEighty Athletes of the Week

HAMILTON, Ont. — Women's Cross Country Alexandra Mills (Toronto, Ont.) and Men's Soccer AJ Robichaud (Burlington, Ont.) have been crowned this week's Marauder Athletes of the Week following standout performances this past weekend.

Alexandra Mills (Toronto, Ont.) - Cross Country

Alexandra Mills led the McMaster Marauders with a second-place finish at the 2026 Don Mills Open at Columbia Lake in Waterloo, Ont., helping the women's cross country team capture the overall title.

The rookie completed the six-kilometre course in 21:58.0, finishing behind Toronto's Bianca Grossi, who won in 21:11.1. Mills was McMaster's top finisher in a field of 72 runners, delivering a strong individual result while providing a crucial contribution to the team standings.

McMaster edged the Toronto Varsity Blues by two points, finishing with 39 to Toronto's 41. Mills anchored a scoring group that included Kaitlin Campagna, Florina Keller, Maria Sanchez and Zoe Alexander, whose combined performances secured the victory.

Her runner-up finish highlighted an impressive outing for the Marauders and demonstrated the impact she is already making in her first university season. Mills' performance gave McMaster valuable points in a closely contested race for the women's team championship.

AJ Robichaud (Burlington, Ont.) - Men's Soccer

AJ Robichaud delivered a standout performance Sunday, scoring both goals as McMaster men's soccer defeated the previously unbeaten, nationally No. 1-ranked York Lions 2-0 at Ron Joyce Stadium.

Following Friday's narrow 1-0 road loss to Laurier, Robichaud helped the Marauders respond with a statement victory against the country's top-ranked team. The forward recorded eight shots, including seven on target, consistently testing York's defence throughout the afternoon.

Robichaud broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, giving McMaster a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. He struck again in the 74th minute, doubling the advantage and providing crucial insurance as the Marauders secured the upset.

Both goals were unassisted, with his first standing as the game-winner. Across two starts over the weekend, Robichaud finished with two goals and nine shots.

His performance, paired with Ethan Cagalj's 12-save shutout, handed York its first loss of the season and improved McMaster's regular-season record to 6-3-1.
