The McMaster Marauders (2-4) earned a 35-16 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues (1-6) on Saturday afternoon at Varsity Stadium.
Everett Reid (Winnipeg, Man.) opened the scoring early in the first quarter with a touchdown, and with the convert from Michael Horvat (Hamilton, Ont.), the Marauders jumped out to a 7-0 lead. Horvat later added a 12-yard field goal to extend the advantage. Toronto responded with a score early in the second quarter, but McMaster quickly took back control with a touchdown from Jackson Taylor (Hamilton, Ont.), followed by another Horvat conversion. Horvat closed out the half with two more makes from 27 and 25 yards, sending the Marauders into the break 23-2.
McMaster kept rolling in the second half. Horvat hit two field goals in the third quarter from 39 and 26 yards, then opened the fourth with a 37-yarder to make it 32–2. The Varsity Blues added late points, but couldn't close the gap. Horvat capped the afternoon with his seventh field goal in the final minute to seal the win 35-16.

October 3 - T: 0-0 @ Waterloo
The McMaster Marauders battled to a hard-fought 0–0 draw against the Waterloo Warriors on Friday at Warrior Field. The Marauders came out strong, with early chances from Shalagh Guha (Waterloo, Ont.) and Emma Fluit (London, Ont.). Keeper Ali Mudie (Burlington, Ont.) also made a few key saves to keep Waterloo off the board. Both teams exchanged opportunities throughout the match, with strong efforts from Nicole Astaiza (London, Ont.), Jade Abreo (Mississauga, Ont.), Megan Soo (Vancouver, B.C.), and Clara Fischer-Credo (Vancouver, B.C.) testing the Warriors' keeper, while Mudie stood tall against Waterloo's attacks, including a sharp save on a close-range header. Despite sustained pressure and multiple chances in the second half, neither team could find the back of the net, resulting in a scoreless draw that highlighted McMaster's resilience and offensive persistence.
October 5 - W: 7-1 vs Waterloo
The McMaster Marauders dominated Sunday's matchup at Ron Joyce Stadium, cruising to a 7–1 victory over the Waterloo Warriors. The Marauders came out firing, creating early scoring chances that put Waterloo on their heels. Jade Abreo (Mississauga, Ont.) kept the momentum alive with a powerful shot from the top left corner of the box, pinging off the bottom left post and into the net, in the 22nd minute. McMaster exploded offensively before halftime with Ellena Parekunnel (Burlington, Ont.) capitalizing on a setup from Molly Palladino (Mississauga, Ont.) to net McMaster's second goal, and just two minutes later, Palladino struck again, this time off a precise pass from Shalagh Guha (Waterloo, Ont.) in the 43rd minute, ending halftime at a score of 3-0.
The Marauders wasted no time ramping up the pressure in the second half, with Emma Fluit (London, Ont.) netting the Marauders' fourth goal in the 53rd minute. In net, keeper Lucie Duffy (London, Ont.) stood tall, coming through with several crucial saves, including a spectacular one-handed tip over the crossbar in the 70th minute to keep the Warriors off the board. The Marauders kept their foot on the gas in the final stretch, breaking through with another pair of back-to-back goals in the 74th and 75th minutes from Guha and Clara Fischer-Credo (Vancouver, B.C.). Waterloo responded with a late goal in the 84th minute, but the Marauders maintained firm control with a five-goal lead. In the 88th minute, Fischer-Credo sealed the win with her second of the match, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner, capping off a dominant 7–1 victory for McMaster.
Men's Soccer
October 3 - T: 4-4 @ Waterloo
The McMaster Marauders fought hard to a 4–4 draw against the Waterloo Warriors at Warrior Field on Friday evening. Waterloo opened the scoring, but McMaster quickly responded as Amir Shirazi (Oakville, Ont.) evened the match with an assist from Montther Mohsen (Ottawa, Ont.). Both teams created strong offensive chances in the first half, with McMaster's defense and goalkeeper Ethan Cagalj (Stoney Creek, Ont.) making crucial stops to keep the game level. In the second half, Karl Espiro (Burlington, Ont.) put the Marauders ahead with a goal, and Mohsen added two more goals to give McMaster a 4–2 lead. Waterloo rallied in the closing stages, scoring twice to even the score, resulting in a 4–4 draw. Despite the final result, McMaster showed resilience, generating numerous scoring opportunities and maintaining pressure on Waterloo throughout the match.
October 5 - L: 1-2 vs Waterloo
The McMaster Marauders put up a determined fight on Sunday but fell 2–1 to the Waterloo Warriors in a close matchup. Keeper
Ethan Cagalj (Stoney Creek, Ont.) set the tone early, making key saves in the opening minutes and holding off several strong Warrior attacks. Despite a back-and-forth start, Waterloo broke through with a penalty kick in the 29th minute and added another just before halftime. The Marauders came out firing in the second half, with
Damiano Refosco (Hamilton, Ont.) and
Karl Espiro (Burlington, Ont.) testing the keeper before
Amir Shirazi (Oakville, Ont.) buried a clean shot off a corner kick in the 63rd minute to close the gap. McMaster continued pressing for the equalizer, but time ran out before they could complete the comeback.

Oct 6 - L: 0-89 vs Queen's
The McMaster Marauders (2-4) faced a tough test Saturday afternoon, falling 89-0 to the undefeated Queen's Gaels (6-0) at Ron Joyce Stadium in their final home game of the regular season.

The Gaels opened the match with sustained pressure and quickly took control of the possession. Queen's rain in multiple early tries and held the 34-0 advantage at half. McMaster showed flashes of attacking promise in the second half, mounting several strong phases deep in the Gael's end. Despite their efforts, the Marauders were unable to break through the Queen's defense. Queen's added to their lead in the final moments to secure the 89-0 win.
Men's Rugby
October 3 - W: 22-21 vs Brock
The McMaster Marauders (3-2) held on for a narrow 22–21 win over the Brock Badgers (2-3) on Friday night at Ron Joyce Stadium, closing out their regular season home schedule on a high note.
Before kickoff, McMaster honoured its graduating players for their contributions to the Marauder rugby program.
In a tight, back-and-forth match, the Marauders scored three tries courtesy of Aaron Mumford (Kingston, Ont.), Aiden Kendall (Bermuda) and Deniz Gungor (Niagara Falls, Ont.). Thomas Kanitz Rasmussen (Whistler, B.C.) added two conversions and a penalty kick to round out McMaster's scoring.
Both sides traded momentum throughout the match, but the Marauders did just enough to come out on top in front of the home crowd.
