HAMILTON, Ont. —  Women's Lacrosse, Vanessa Winney (Fergus, Ont.) and Football, Everett Reid (Winnipeg, Man.) have been crowned this week's Marauder Athletes of the Week for their excellent showings in their respective maroon jerseys.

Women's Lacrosse - Vanessa Winney (Fergus, Ont.)

Vanessa Winney delivered a standout performance at the OUA Championship last weekend, leading the Marauders to their first tournament win since 2019 scoring twice in McMaster's 7–4 opening victory over Ontario Tech. The veteran attacker was unstoppable early, striking twice in the first half to set the tone, and carry the Marauders to a historic win. Winney carried that momentum through the weekend, adding two more goals in a hard-fought 7–6 loss to Brock as the Marauders narrowly missed advancing. Her offensive spark and consistent finishing made her a key difference-maker for McMaster, capping off the season with a memorable championship performance.

Football - Everett Reid (Winnipeg, Man.)

In the Marauder's nail-biting 41-39 victory over Carleton last Saturday, Everett Reid put forth a standout performance with season highs in multiple categories. He hauled in 6 receptions for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a spectacular 95-yard score that immediately swung momentum in McMaster's favour. He added 26 rushing yards on the ground, showing versatility and impact both as a receiver and contributor in the rush game.  Reid's explosive touchdown catch and all-around contributions were key factors in the Marauders' thrilling win.
