HAMILTON, Ont. - With two straight playoff victories at home over the TMU Bold and York Lions, the Marauders will now return to Burridge, once again, this time for the title match. The No. 3 ranked team in the nation, McMaster will face the No. 6 Windsor Lancers on Saturday at 6pm. Both teams have already earned a berth to the U SPORTS Championship which will be held in Hamilton. next week but with the Ontario title and banner on the line, there is still a lot to play for. Saturday night's game will mark the first contest between the two squads this season, but McMaster and Windsor did match up four times in the 2021-22 OUA season. The Marauders and Lancers last met in an OUA quarterfinal contest in March 2022 where the maroon and grey picked up a thrilling five set victory over the visitors. Both teams will enter this game looking to finish the OUA season on a high. The Marauders are coming off a big win against the York Lions in the OUA semifinal while the Lancers dropped the Varsity Blues last Saturday.
Each roster will see their season peak this Saturday when they compete for the Forsyth Cup. The Marauders ended the regular season with an 18-2 record with the only blemishes coming on the road in the final weekend of the regular season. Windsor earned a 15-5 record, closing out with a weekend split over the York Lions.
The winner of Saturday night's contest will be awarded the OUA banner and Forsyth Cup while also earning the OUA Champion seed at the U SPORTS Championship next weekend.
