HAMILTON, Ont. – The Marauder tennis teams are competing at the 2023 OUA Championships hosted by the University of Toronto this weekend. The competition lasts from October 6th to 8th at Mayfair Club in Toronto. Last year, the women's team finished 3rd while the men were unranked. This bronze medal for the women was the first program medal in over 20 years, and the teams will hope to have another year of outstanding performances. Going into the championship this year, the women are seeded third while the men are seeded fifth.

There are seven teams in the competition including McMaster, and last year the Mustangs swept the men's and women's titles. The quarterfinal round starts on Friday, where the men will face off against the Warriors at 1:30pm and the women will match up against the Badgers at 9:30am. Both teams are 1-5 this season and will look for a win in order to move on to the semifinal rounds on Saturday.

Men's Tennis: Christian Krustev
Over his time as a student-athlete, Christian has won four OUA gold medals and two national silver medals. The Toronto local is currently a resident physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at McMaster and will play in his 11th OUA Championship this weekend.
Women's Tennis: Eva Feddema
Eva has been an instrumental part of our McMaster Tennis program for the past 2 years, holding the #1 singles spot in most of her matches. Faced with a battle each weekend, Eva continues to demonstrate the core values of being a Marauder, bringing her talent and competitive edge to the court, while displaying poise and sportsmanship.
