HAMILTON - Scarlett Wang and Justin White have been named the Marauder Athletes of the Week, capping off an impressive week of competition for McMaster student-athletes. 

Women's Tennis – Scarlett Wang
Wang, a first-year member of the women's tennis team, closed out her inaugural season as a Marauder on a high note. Competing in both the doubles and singles competitions at the 2023 OUA Tennis Championship, the Ottawa local had pivotal wins in McMaster's bronze medal match with the Western Mustangs. The Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences student picked up a big tiebreaker victory with partner Maia Mureseanu to earn the Marauders the doubles point. In singles action, Scarlett cruised to a dominant 6-1, 6-3 win in the two-slot enroute to the bronze medal.
 
Baseball – Justin White
A short stop on the Marauders baseball team, Justin White was a consistent force at the plate at this weekend's OUA West Regional Qualifier. The Ancaster, Ont. local was the regional leader with a .600 batting average and contributed six hits for McMaster. A second-year student majoring in Environment and Society, White had the highest on-base percentage (.714) of any student-athlete at the regional competition and had an impressive 13 quality at-bats. He also chipped in with his glove, making key plays in the Marauders' three games, to help secure McMaster a berth to the 2023 OUA Baseball Championship.
