HAMILTON, Ont. - For just the second time in McMaster men's soccer program history, a Marauder was announced as a member of the 2023 CPL - U SPORTS Draft Class. Miles Green (Toronto, Ont.) became the first member of the maroon and grey to be drafted in Round 1, going 9th overall to Forge FC.

Miles Green, a fifth-year studying geography and environmental sciences who was named an OUA First Team All-Star played in ten of the Marauders' games this regular season. The forward was the leading scorer for the Marauders, recording six goals, including two game winners. He also tallied two assists for a total of eight points. Green ranked second in the OUA in total shots with 42. In the post-season, he found the back of the net twice more, including the game winner against the Nipissing Lakers in the OUA semi-final. Green recorded 12 shots in the team's three post-season contests to rank second in the conference.

At the U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship in Kamloops, B.C., Miles Green scored a goal in the Championship opener to close out his 2022 season.

The Canadian Premier League announced the 16 draft picks from the 2023 CPL-U SPORTS Draft during a live draft held this afternoon. The draftees will be invited to their club's preseason training, with the hopes of securing a 2022 U SPORTS Developmental Contract for the upcoming season. A total of 199 players declared for this year's draft.
