HAMILTON, Ont. – After sweeping the Nipissing Lakers this past weekend, the Marauder women will take on the Queen's Gaels in back to back games at home. Game time is set for 6:00 PM both Friday and Saturday night.

This weekend is the only time McMaster and Queen's are scheduled to meet this season. The Marauders and Gaels last battled during the 2019-20 regular season. In an extremely tight match, it was McMaster who came out on top winning the game 3 sets to 2 sets (25-11, 21-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13). McMaster is looking strong as they hope to beat the Gaels once again.

The Gaels are coming off of back-to-back games against the TMU Bold, coming out with one loss and one win. In the first game, TMU was victorious beating the Gaels 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-11) in a battle. Queen's came back with vengeance on night two, sweeping the Bold in three sets (25-18, 25-14, 25-22). Currently 5-2, the Gaels are ready to put up a fight against the Marauder women.

The Marauder women are coming off of a solid weekend, having swept the Nipissing Lakers in both of this weekend's matches. On Friday night, the Marauders made quick work of the Lakers, winning the match in three straight sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-17). Christina Stratford (Burlington, Ont.) contributed in a huge way, recording 19 assists and two kills. In Saturday night's game, it was outside hitter Sullie Sundara (Kanata, Ont.) who dominated the game, recording 16 kills, five digs and one service ace. The Marauders are currently 6-2, with a two game win streak. McMaster looks to extend its record this weekend against the Gaels.
