HAMILTON, Ont. – McMaster women's volleyball saw two student-athletes recognized at this years U SPORTS Women's Volleyball awards.
Abby Delamere was named the U SPORTS Community Service Award recipient, while
Olivia Julien was named a Second Team All-Canadian.
Abby Delamere (Toronto, Ont.) – U SPORTS Community Service Award
Abby Delamere has been a cornerstone of the McMaster Marauders women's volleyball program throughout the 2025–26 season, earning the prestigious U SPORTS Community Service Award for her outstanding commitment to leadership, service, and academic excellence.
A three-time Academic All-Canadian, Delamere has consistently balanced elite athletic performance with exceptional dedication to her studies and community involvement. On the court, she appeared in 20 matches for the Marauders, recording 89 kills (1.39 per set) with an impressive .324 hitting percentage. She added 51 digs, 44 total blocks (0.69 per set), and 12 assists, demonstrating her versatility and steady presence across the lineup.
Beyond competition, Delamere's impact has been felt throughout the McMaster and Hamilton communities. She serves as a coach with Mountain Volleyball Club, an Academic Peer Mentor, and a Varsity Leadership Council executive. Delamere also helps coordinate McMaster's summer volleyball camps, providing mentorship and development opportunities for young athletes.
Her commitment to community outreach extends further through youth volleyball clinics at the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton and Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, as well as guest coaching appearances at Dundas Valley Secondary School. She has also contributed as a Volunteer Research Assistant in the Faculty of Kinesiology and as a Patient Assistant Volunteer at Runneymede Healthcare Centre.
A three-time team co-captain, Delamere helped guide the Marauders to three consecutive OUA finals while setting an example of leadership, compassion, and service. Through sustained academic achievement, athletic excellence, and meaningful community engagement, Delamere continues to embody the values of McMaster Athletics.
Olivia Julien (Toronto, Ont.) – U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian
Olivia Julien delivered an outstanding 2025–26 season for the McMaster Marauders, earning U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian honours after establishing herself as one of the nation's most dynamic offensive threats.
Appearing in 20 matches, Julien recorded 233 kills (3.53 per set), ranking fifth in the OUA, while totaling 275.5 points (4.2 per set) to finish sixth in the conference. She registered a .230 hitting percentage across 634 total attacks, consistently serving as the Marauders' primary scoring option throughout the season.
Julien's impact extended beyond her offensive production. She contributed 176 digs (2.67 per set), 27 service aces (0.41 per set), 28 assists, and 19 total blocks, showcasing her ability to influence the game in multiple areas. Her strong serve and defensive work made her a complete six-rotation player and a reliable presence in key moments.
Her combination of scoring ability, defensive contributions, and overall versatility made her one of the most impactful players in the country and earned her recognition as a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian.
