HAMILTON, Ont. – After a successful home-opener weekend, the Marauder men will look to continue their win streak, hitting the road Friday to take on the Western Mustangs, and then returning home to battle the Waterloo Warriors Saturday.

Although this is the first time these teams meet this season, McMaster and Western did meet twice last season. The Marauders defeated the Mustangs in both contests 3 sets to none (25-16, 25-10, 25-19) and 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-17). Both teams will enter this game with momentum. After dropping Trent University 3 sets to 0 both Friday (25-10, 25-11, 25-11) and Saturday (25-15, 25-15, 25-12), McMaster will look to continue their win streak this Friday. The Mustangs had a successful home-opener weekend as well downing TMU 3-0 both Friday and Saturday night.

After heading down to London to take on Western, the Marauders then return home to defend Burridge Gym at 8pm on Saturday against the Waterloo Warriors.

These teams met twice during the 2021-22 season, with the Marauder men sweeping the Warriors 3-0 in November (25-12, 25-10, 25-17) and 3-0 again in February (25-20, 25-18, 25-17). The Marauders had a strong weekend, posting 61 kills, 56 assists and 12 service aces. Mac also recorded 15 total blocks (8 solo blocks, 14 block assists) to rack up a total of 88.0 points. The Waterloo Warriors fell 0-3 to the Windsor Lancers this past Friday (24-25, 21-25, 15-25), and 1-3 this past Saturday (9-25, 25-22, 15-25, 20-25). After a strong performance this past weekend, the Marauders are looking confident for next weekend's matches.

McMaster currently sits in the No. 4 spot in the U SPORTS Top 10 and look to continue to climb up the rankings.
