Carboni and Brtan Named Pita Pit Athletes of the Week

Both players scored for the Marauders in their opening weekend of the OUA season.

Nikola Brtan began his McMaster career in style Saturday, scoring a highlight-reel goal in his team's 6-0 demolition of the Waterloo Warriors. With his team leading 4-0 at the resumption of play in the second half, Brtan ensured that the one-way traffic continued at Ron Joyce Stadium, striking in the 49th minute with a beautiful individual effort for his first goal as a Marauder.

Maila Carboni

McMaster's veteran forward showed no sign of rust to open the 2017 season this past weekend, finding the back of the net in both of the Marauders contests at Ron Joyce Stadium. Carboni provided the second-half strike that ultimately earned Mac a point in a 2-2 draw with the Waterloo Warriors Saturday, before opening the scoring in her team's Sunday follow-up against the Laurier Golden Hawks, which the Marauders similarly drew 2-2.
