Men's Volleyball: Mac Bench Loses to York in Four

Box Score For the second time in as many matches, McMaster's young players were burned on Friday, as the Marauders dropped a four-set decision to the York Lions on the road.

Set scores were 25-18, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-16 in favour of the Lions, who improved to 9-11 with the win and locked down the final spot in the upcoming OUA playoffs. Meanwhile, the Marauders fall to 17-2 after seeing their bid for a perfect regular season thwarted a week ago, having already locked up the right to host the OUA Final Four.

Peter Khodkevych was once again a standout in defeat, hitting 52 per cent and killing 14 of 21 hitting attempts versus three errors, while adding an ace and a block and a half for a team-leading total of 16.5 points. Rebounding from a rough outing a week ago, Connor Santoni hit 32 per cent on 13 of 31 versus three errors.

Proving to be a matchup nightmare for the young Marauders, Arthur Szwarc posted 25 points to lead the Lions in victory.

McMaster closes the regular season with a visit to the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, before enjoying nearly two weeks away from competition as the OUA playoff picture rages around them in the lead up to the Final Four.
