Keldyn Ahlstedt has been named the U Sports Defensive Player of the Week, for his strong game in last Saturday's 17-11 quarter-final victory over Guelph.
Ahlstedt, a fifth-year history student from Whitby, Ont., made five solo tackles along with one fumble recovery in a 17-11 win, but he saved his best play for last as the 5-10, 192-pound safety came up with the game-ending interception on the goal line to deny a Gryphon comeback. With the win the Marauders advance to the Yates Cup semi-final against the Laurier Golden Hawks, this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Laurier's University Stadium.
