Women's Volleyball: Marauders Sweep Aside Thunderwolves to End Road Trip

Following on the heels of their four-set victory of a night earlier, the no. 5-ranked Marauders wasted no time brushing aside the Lakehead Thunderwolves Saturday. McMaster swept Lakehead 25-15, 25-8 and 25-13 to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Maicee Sorensen paced the McMaster offence on the night, converting on seven of 13 hitting attempts with no errors (.538) while adding three aces and two solo blocks for a game high of 12 points. Efficient from the left side, Joanna Jedrzejewska added eight kills on just 13 attempts without an error (.615) and posted an ace and a solo block.

Setter Caitlin Genovy was in system for most of the night, ending it with 31 assists.

Defensively, opposite Rebecca Steckle led the Marauders, and the match, with 12 digs, while Jedrzejewska had 10.

UP NEXT: Mac returns home to the Burridge Gym on Friday, November 18, where they play host to the Brock Badgers. First serve for that match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
