Shrugging off a wobble in the second set, the McMaster Marauders recovered to beat the Lakehead Thunderwolves in four sets Friday, maintaining their perfect start to the OUA season. The U Sports no. 5-ranked McMaster defeated Lakehead 25-18, 17-25, 25-15, 25-10 in Thunder Bay to move to 4-0.

Outside hitter Joanna Jedrzejewska led the Marauders with 14 points, including 10 kills, two aces and two solo blocks, but it was opposite Rebecca Steckle who proved to be the game-breaker for the Marauders. The senior right side posted 11 kills on 23 attempts (.391) and added an ace for 12 points, while collecting nine digs.

Caitlin Genovy handled the bulk of the setting duty, and had 34 assists in the win, while libero Carly Heath led McMaster with 16 digs.
