Box Score McMaster's remarkable turnaround gained another impressive foothold Thursday. The Marauders defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 2-1 on the road to win their seventh game in their past eight, and clinch fifth position and a playoff spot in the OUA West division.
After suffering five consecutive losses earlier this season, the Marauders seemed in danger of falling out of playoff contention with weeks to spare. But their current red-hot run of form has McMaster enjoying a 7-6-2 record, and Mac will officially travel to Windsor to battle the Lancers in a first round playoff match in a week's time.
Alexandra Riganelli and
Cassidy Davis had goals for the Marauders, while goalkeeper Deanna Persico made two saves in the win.
Laurier's Katie Bishop had a consolation goal in the 73rd minute, as the hosts attempted to stage a late comeback that ultimately fell short.
