Women's Volleyball: Mac Claws Back from Two-Set Deficit in Windsor

Box Score Fighting through errors and struggling to find their best volleyball throughout the night, the Marauders staged a comeback from two sets behind to defeat the Windsor Lancers Friday.

Set scores were 25-27, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21 and 15-12 in favour of the OUA West-leading Marauders, who extended their conference winning streak to eleven matches with the tight decision.

Fresh from being named as the Pita Pit Athlete of the Week on Monday, middle Taylor Brisebois excelled yet again, providing a bright spot in a Mac offence that sputtered for much of the night. Brisebois had 11 kills on 21 attempts versus just three errors (.381) while adding six aces and two total blocks for a game-high tally of 19 points. Fellow fifth-year veteran Lauren Mastroluisi had 16.5 points, including a game high 15 kills, while Joanna Jedrzejewska (15) and Maicee Sorensen (12) also reached double digits in points.

Once again splitting the setting duty, as they have increasingly this season, rookie Michelle Chelladurai and Caitlin Genovy had 28 and 27 assists respectively in the extended match.

Having clawed their way to victory on Friday, the Marauders will need to reset quickly, as they head to London to battle their nearest rivals in the OUA West standings, the Western Mustangs, on Saturday night.
