The Marauders continued their season-long trend of competing well on the road, as they scraped out a point against the Guelph Gryphons in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
Midfielder Maureen Mai was the catalyst, scoring her team's lone goal while taking five shots and hitting the target with three of those. Cristina Abbatangelo put in a strong performance between the posts, stopped eight of nine shots she faced.
The result maintained the Marauders and Gryphons deadlock in the OUA West standings, as they remain tied for fifth position with 10 points apiece.
Mai opened the scoring with a strike in the 21st minute, and the Marauders held that advantage at the half time interval. But Guelph found an equalizer late on, as Stephanie Moore scored to force the teams to split the points on Saturday.
McMaster returns home to Ron Joyce Stadium tomorrow, when they play their part in Homecoming weekend with an afternoon tilt against the Waterloo Warriors. That match is due to kick off at 1:00 p.m.
