When the numbers three and four-ranked teams in Canada face each other, the stakes are pretty high and Saturday's match-up between McMaster (No. 4) and Western (No. 3) in London is being billed as OUA football's game of the year.
To serve its local audience of Marauder fans Hamilton's Cable 14 will take the broadcast feed from Western and will televise Saturday's game live for local viewers. The game is also available on OUA.tv for fans outside the Cable 14 viewing area, and will be broadcast on radio on AM900 CHML. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
While neither team is in danger of seeing their season end after this game, the winner will gain an advantage in the standings and the inside track toward a first-round playoff bye and homefield advantage in the post-season.
The Mustangs are the defending league champions and knocked out McMaster in the OUA semifinals, while McMaster hoisted the Yates Cup in 2012 and 2011, defeating Western during both of those playoff runs. Needless to say the McMaster-Western rivalry is intense.
