DIVISION-LEADING MUSTANGS PUT FIVE GOALS PAST MARAUDERS, WIN 5-0

Box Score McMaster held the dangerous Western Mustangs at bay for 40 minutes, but once the Mustangs found the back of the net on Saturday there was no stopping them.

The Mustangs piled on four goals in the second half to cement a 5-0 win over the Marauders in London, one that moved Western (11-2-1) to the top of the OUA West division standings.

With the loss, McMaster (3-7-3) remained a point behind the Brock Badgers for the sixth and final playoff spot in the West with a game in hand.

Five different Mustangs had goals on Saturday, with Lauren Winquist breaking the deadlock in the 41st minute. The teams went into the break with just the one goal between them, but Western quickly changed that when play resumed.

Tianna Deluzio struck in the 54th minute before Lauren Vandenbygaart added Western's third just five minutes later. Striker Amanda Boyle had the hosts' fourth in the 80th minute, and Paige Howard scored a goal of her own in stoppage time to complete the five-goal rout.

McMaster will look to rebound in a day's time, as the Marauders continue their road trip in Windsor, where they take on the Lancers Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
