Waterloo, Ont. - The McMaster women's soccer team kicked off their 2012 campaign with a road game against the Waterloo Warriors on Wednesday afternoon. 

After a scoreless first half, the Marauders took the lead early in the second. In the 49th minute, veteran forward Tara Dawdy (Burlington, Ont.) scored McMaster's first goal of the regular season off a corner kick.

Midfielder Emma Mangialardi (Oakville, Ont.) would make it 2-0 for McMaster in the 77th minute with a goal of her own. 

Goalkeeper Brittany Duffey played the full 90 minutes and earned the shut out.

The Marauders face the Windsor Lancers on Saturday at 1pm at Ron Joyce Stadium in their home opener.
