Box Score The McMaster men’s volleyball team, currently ranked No. 3 in Canada, moved to 3 and 0 in the OUA season, with a dominant three set sweep over the visiting RMC Paladins on Saturday evening.
The Marauders took it right at the Paladins from the start of the contest and kept the pressure on throughout the match. The set scores were 25-7, 25-13, and 25-6.
The first set saw the score get to 10-4 for the Maroon, forcing an RMC timeout. At the technical timeout the score had grown to 16-4, as RMC struggled with its passing game and McMaster’s size at the net.
The second and third sets were similar as McMaster jumped out to big leads, hitting the technical timeout in each set with margins of 16-4 and 16-3 respectively.
McMaster’s Tyson Alexander was the top scorer in a balanced attack with 11 points. The BIG MAC player of the game was setter Ian Cooper, who finished with 21 assists and played a strong defensive game at the net, as the Marauders put up a strong block as a team.
The Marauders now enter a bye week, and are not in action again until Saturday, November 10
th when they head to Toronto to take on the Ryerson Rams.
