Hamilton, Ont. - The McMaster Marauders women's soccer team captured their eighth win of the season on Sunday afternoon at Ron Joyce Stadium.

The only goal of the game came from McMaster captain Mel Van Der Hoop (Oakville, Ont.). In the 30th minute, the Marauders would go up 1-0 and never look back.

Shots on goal ended 16-8 in favour of the Marauders and Brittany Duffey (Markham, Ont.) played the full 90 minutes for the shut out. 

With just three games left in the regular season, McMaster looks to secure a bye in the playoffs and would need to finish first or second in the OUA West to do so. The Marauders are currently fighting for second place with the Western Mustangs. 

McMaster takes on the York Lions on the road on Wednesday at 1pm.
