Ottawa, Ont. - The McMaster fastpitch team split the weekend's matches with two wins over the Carleton Ravens and two losses to the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The Marauders also fell to the Brock Badgers on Thursday night.
On Thursday night at Mohawk Sports Park, the Marauders hosted the Badgers. Currently sitting in fourth place in the OIWFA, Brock handed it to the Marauders on their home turf 7-0.
Over the weekend, McMaster traveled to Ottawa to take on both the Carleton Ravens and the Ottawa Gee-Gees. On Saturday afternoon, the Marauders saw much success in their matches against the Ravens. In the first of two games that afternoon, McMaster won their second game of the season by a score of 12-4. Just two hours later in the second game of the doubleheader, the Marauders would continue their win streak with another win, this time scoring a season high 15 runs and allowing just two from the Ravens.
Unfortunately, that success did not carry over to Sunday's games, as the Marauders were defeated by the Gee-Gees 9-0 and 8-1. Ottawa sits just behind the Western Mustangs for second place in the league.
McMaster hosts the Toronto Varsity Blues with games at 5:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday October 5, and the Guelph Gryphons at 2:00pm and 4:00pm on the following day, all to be played at Mohawk Sports Park.
