London, Ont. - The McMaster men's volleyball team fell in three sets to the Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon in OUA men's volleyball action. Set scores in the three-set match were 16-25, 22-25, 20-25.
The No. 9 Marauders suffered their third loss of the season, and their second to the Mustangs, but still sit second in the OUA with an 11-3 record. The Mustangs sit atop the league with a 14-1 record thus far.
Captain Jeremy Groenveld was the most effective Marauder in the match, recording 14 points with 12 kills and two blocks. Winnipeg native, Kevin Stevens added another nine kills for McMaster.
For the Mustangs, Matt Poulin recorded 18 points with 12 kills, three aces and three blocks. Matt Waite and Garrett May also hit double-digit points with 12 and 11 points respectively.
The Marauders continue their road trip with a game against the Windsor Lancers Sunday afternoon, who currently sit third in the league.
