The Marauders were on the road to Windsor and Western. The team came out flat against the Lancers in the 1st of the double header losing 7-0. The second game of the double header, Mac was down 1-0 in the top of the 4th inning when Julia Catalano was walked and the RIB was credited to Kayla King hitting a single shot to right field. Kelsey Harpur came to the plate to drive King in with a poke to left field. In the bottom of 7th Mac was down 6-2 and came back to tie up 6-6 in regulation play with runs from Hannah Hallsworth, Brittany Hicks, Julia Catalano and Shelby Montour. Into an extra inning and the International tie breaker in affect Mac lost a close game 7-6.
The second set of games against Western, Mac held Western in both games until the 5th inning with 0-0 score. With Western being a power house, they used switched up the roster at this point in both games to beat Mac 8-1, Hicks on the Board for Mac and Catalano with RBI in the first game. In the second game, Mac lost to Western 8-0 Both games were played very well by Mac.
Mac faced Brock for a double header. The First game against Brock, the ball was just not on the side of the Marauders losing 7-0. In the second game against Brock, Mac was on the board early in the game with Melaine Furtado being walked and a long hard drive by Brittany Hicks to cash in the run. Mac was on the board again in the 6th inning with Brittany Hicks being walked and Kayla King hitting a in the park Home Run. The final score of the game was 8-3 for Brock.
Over this past weekend the Women’s Fast Team, competed against Ottawa U and scored in the first inning with a sac bunt from Kaylyn Roloson and a line drive from Hannah Hallsworth for a 1-0 lead. Ottawa U answered back in the top of the second inning with 1 run. Mac was on the board at with solid hit to right field from Megan Raczkowski, moved around by Kaylyn Roloson with a bunt and Julia Catalano cracking one to left-centre field to score both runs. In the top of the 7th Ottawa scored 3 runs to take the win from Mac. During the regular play, Mac pulled off a triple play which is very rare in Fast Pitch. Nice job ladies!
Ottawa U dominated in the second game by winning 7-0 against Mac.
The final games this past weekend were against Carleton. Mac was on the made the scorebook early in the 1st game with a nice poke to left from Kaylyn Roloson, followed up by Julia Catalano with the same shot. Both runners were driven home by Hannah Hallsworth hit up the middle. Hallsworth was walked in the 3rd inning and moved around the bases by Shannon Mayhew and Jennifer Golding fly ball to right field. In the 4th inning, Catalano touched a pitch to left field for double and Brittany Hicks had a solid hit to left to score Catalano. Kayla King played it smart and was walked and Hicks stole home for another run. In the bottom of the 5th Jen Golding was on base with a single to left field and was cashed in with Melanie Furtado’s double to left centre. The final score of the game was 7-0. Melanie Furtado was credited with the win and 5 strike outs.
In Mac’s second game against Carleton, the first one to cross the plate was Shelby Montour. Montour was on base with her double shot to right field and was brought in by Jennifer Golding hit to the left side of the field. Mac was on the board again until the 5 inning beginning with a sac bunt from Kaylyn Roloson, a walk to Julia Catalano and Kayla King and was cashed in with Hannah Hallsworth hit to centre field. Megan Raczkowski and Kelsey Harpur made it on base with two singles to centre. The score at the bottom of the 6th inning was
6-0. Melanie Furtado was on base with a single and hit in by Julia Catalano’s triple to right field. Brittany Hicks gets credit for the RBI with hit right up the middle. Kayla King cashed in Hicks with her hit up the middle. The win was split between Kaylyn Roloson and Melaine Furtado.
McMaster heads to Waterloo this coming weekend to face Laurier and University of Waterloo.
