Constantly striving to provide outstanding coaching for all of its student-athletes, the McMaster Department of Athletics and Recreation is excited to announce the appointment of Brett Mosen as head coach for the Marauder women’s soccer team.
Mosen joins the Marauders with a coaching background that stretches all the way from the grassroots to the professional ranks, over a career that spans over 20 years. He is currently the Head Coach and Technical Director for Hamilton FC of the Premier Development League and will continue in that position, while assuming the reins of the McMaster women’s team.
“We are very excited to add a coach of Brett’s qualifications,” comments Jeff Giles, McMaster’s Director of Athletics and Recreation. “There is no substitute for experience and his record at all levels is nothing short of impressive.”
Having coached throughout the United States and Canada, Mosen was also Head Coach and Technical Director from 2004-2010 for the Oakville Soccer Club, which is the largest youth soccer organization in North America, with over 11,000 registered players. His professional coaching record comprises stints with both men’s and women’s teams in the United Soccer Leagues (USL), including serving as Head Coach for the Toronto Lady Lynx in 2005.
Adds Giles, “Women’s soccer is certainly growing in Canada and throughout the world, and we see Brett as someone that can take McMaster women’s soccer to the next level and help our players be the best they can be.”
Well regarded for his work in player development, including eight years (1990-98) in the USA Olympic Development Program, Mosen will begin his appointment as McMaster Head Coach immediately.
