GRYPHONS OUTSCORE MARAUDERS IN FINAL HOME DOUBLEHEADER

HAMILTON – In their second last doubleheader of the 2010 regular season, the McMaster Marauders dropped 10-3 and 14-2 decisions to the Guelph Gryphons today at Bernie Arbour Stadium.

Guelph jumped up the board early with three runs within the first two innings. The Marauders tied the game after scoring their first single run in the bottom of the second and an additional two in the fourth.  Guelph outscored McMaster 7-0 in the final three innings to take game one.

Andrew Morales (Wasaga Beach, Ont.) added two more RBI's to his 2010 totals and now leads his team with nine.  Sean Lemon (Mississauga, Ont.) batted in the additional runner on a double and crossed the plate himself alongside of Alex McGregor’s (Ottawa) two.

In game two, Guelph cashed their 14 runs in the first four innings, including six in the third inning alone.  McMaster mustered two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but it wasn’t nearly enough to catch up to the Gryphons.

The loss drops Mac to 4-10 this season while Guelph sits at 8-6.

McMaster will travel to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus next Saturday, October 2, to finish off the regular season against the league leading Varsity Blues (9-3).
