Entering the U SPORTS Championships with the fifth-fastest time in Canada at 3000m, the second-year Marauder matched his seeding Friday to come away from the national meet with a fifth-placed finish.

The Kingston, Ont. native ran side-by-side with Guelph’s Ben Workman, finishing less than a tenth of a second behind the Gryphon for fourth, and provided the best result of the weekend for McMaster’s small delegation to the championships.

He edged teammate Sergio Raez Villanueva in the process, who finished 11th.
