Looking to take her team a step further than a year earlier, the veteran guard put together a vintage performance for the Marauders on the biggest stage Saturday.

Hanaka scored a game high 22 points and was named as the Player of the Game as McMaster claimed the fifth OUA Critelli Cup title of its program’s history with a 79-75 win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the nation’s capital.

Enjoying a vitally efficient game as her team battled through a back-and-forth contest with the top-ranked team in the country, Hanaka hit eight of 19 attempts from the floor and three of six from three-point range. She added three rebounds and five assists in the win, which secured the second seed for McMaster at the U SPORTS Championship, and a national quarter-final against the Concordia Stingers on Thursday.
