The fifth-year winger spearheaded a commendable Marauder effort on Saturday, as McMaster hung with the CIS no. 1-ranked Guelph Gryphons before ultimately dropping a 44-27 decision. Vande Pol scored all 10 of her points in the opening half, twice breaking through for tries as McMaster put up 17 against the nation's best in the first half. The Gryphons would go on to win in the second, but Saturday's was an encouraging result for the Marauders.
