HAMILTON, Ont. – McMaster women's volleyball saw four student-athletes recognized with major OUA honours, with
Maddy Lutes earning the Champion of EDI Award and
Abby Delamere winning the Therese Quigley Award.
Maddy Lutes (Barrie, Ont.) – Champion of EDI Award
McMaster's Maddy Lutes (Barrie, Ont.) has been named the OUA Champion of EDI Award recipient, recognized for her outstanding leadership and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within the varsity and campus community. A key contributor on the court, Lutes appeared in 20 matches during the 2025–26 season, recording 128 kills (2.17 kills per set) and 169.5 total points (2.9 points per set). She added 63 digs and 20 assists, showcasing her versatility and steady presence throughout the year. She is also heading to her third consecutive OUA Final — a testament to her consistency and impact within the program. While her competitive contributions have been significant, it is her work beyond the stat sheet that truly sets her apart. Serving as Outreach Coordinator for McMaster's Indigenous Student Athlete Council, Lutes has played a central role in fostering a welcoming and empowering space for Indigenous student-athletes. Through her leadership, she has helped Indigenous student-athletes feel seen, supported, and valued throughout their university experience. By encouraging storytelling, collaboration, and cultural celebration, Lutes continues to help build a stronger, more inclusive environment within McMaster Athletics.
Abby Delamere (Toronto, Ont.) – Therese Quigley Award, Third Team All-Star
Abby Delamere has been a consistent and versatile contributor for McMaster women's volleyball throughout the 2025–26 season. Appearing in 20 matches, she recorded 89 kills (1.39 per set) with a .324 hitting percentage, ranking 6th in the OUA for efficiency. She added 51 digs, 44 total blocks (0.69 per set), and 12 assists, highlighting her all-around game and earning her OUA Third Team All-Star recognition this season. A three-time Academic All-Canadian, Delamere has maintained exceptional academic standing throughout her degree. With her continued commitment to service and leadership she was also named this season's recipient of the Therese Quigley Award. As a coach with Mountain Volleyball Club, an Academic Peer Mentor, a Varsity Leadership Council executive, and a Co-Coordinator for McMaster's summer volleyball camps, Abby demonstrates a genuine dedication to giving back and supporting others within both the sport and the university community. A three-time team Co-Captain, Delamere has guided the Marauders throughout her second, third, and fourth years, making 3 straight OUA finals. Delamere has also dedicated herself to community outreach. She has led youth volleyball clinics at the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton and Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, and served as a recurring guest coach at Dundas Valley Secondary School. She has also contributed as a Volunteer Research Assistant in the Faculty of Kinesiology and as a Patient Assistant Volunteer at Runneymede Healthcare Centre. Through sustained academic excellence, championship success, and unwavering commitment to leadership and service, Abby Delamere embodies the values of McMaster Athletics and continues to set the standard for future Marauders.
Olivia Julien (Toronto, Ont.) – First Team All-Star
Olivia Julien has been a dominant force for McMaster women's volleyball during the 2025–26 season. She appeared in 20 matches, recording 233 kills (3.53 per set, 5th in the league) on 634 total attacks with a .230 hitting percentage. Julien totaled 275.5 points (4.2 per set, 6th in the OUA), ranking among the team and league leaders in offensive production.
She contributed across all facets of the game, adding 176 digs (2.67 per set), 28 assists, 27 service aces (0.41 per set), and 19 total blocks. Julien's all-around performance highlights her ability to impact both offense and defense, with high-volume attacking, consistent serving, and solid defensive contributions. Julien has been a consistent presence for the Marauders, helping anchor the team's competitive performance while demonstrating leadership and reliability on the court. Her combination of scoring, serving, and defensive versatility earned her First Team OUA All-Star recognition.
Eva Lin (Markham, Ont.) – All-Rookie Team
Eva Lin made an immediate impact in her debut season with McMaster women's volleyball, earning recognition on the OUA All-Rookie Team. She appeared in 20 matches, recording 63 kills (1.21 per set) and contributing 72 total points (1.4 per set). Lin added 36 digs, and 7 service aces, showing versatility and steady improvement throughout her rookie campaign. Lin contributed in multiple areas — attack, defense, and serving demonstrating her adaptability in different rotations which helped the Marauders develop depth and balance on the court.
