HAMILTON, Ont. — McMaster Athletics & Recreation has announced the appointment of Skye Angus as its new Associate Director, Athletics, adding a respected leader with deep experience in varsity sport administration, student-athlete development and high-performance programming.
Angus joins the Marauders from the University of Guelph, where she most recently served as Manager, Intercollegiate Programs. She arrives at McMaster with more than 20 years of experience in university athletics and an extensive background in varsity operations, staff leadership, budget oversight, eligibility and compliance, and student-athlete support.
"Skye brings a tremendous depth of experience in university athletics, along with a clear commitment to student-athlete success and building strong, collaborative programs," said
Keenan Jeppesen, Director of Athletics & Recreation. "Her leadership background, operational expertise and people-first approach make her an outstanding fit for McMaster, and we're excited to welcome her to the Marauder family."
Starting in April, Angus will join McMaster's senior leadership team and help guide the continued growth and success of the department's varsity athletics programs, supporting coaches, staff and student-athletes while helping advance the Marauders' commitment to excellence on and off the field of play.
"I couldn't be more excited to be joining the exceptional team within McMaster Athletics," said Angus. "I look forward to working alongside and collaborating with the coaches and staff to support student athlete success in the classroom and on the field of play to help drive the next chapter of Marauder Athletics excellence."
Angus most recently oversaw a wide-ranging varsity portfolio at Guelph, including leadership and support for programs across basketball, volleyball, soccer, rugby, track and field, cross country, swimming, and wrestling. Her work has also included sport operations planning, coach oversight, student-athlete development programming, and collaboration with campus partners in support of the overall student-athlete experience.
In addition to her administrative leadership, Angus brings extensive coaching experience in basketball at the university, provincial and national levels.
Her appointment marks an important addition to McMaster Athletics & Recreation's leadership team as the department continues to invest in a strong, student-centred varsity experience and build on the momentum of the Marauders program.
Eric Bourque, who has served as Interim Associate Director, Athletics since the summer of 2024, will now return to McMaster's Human Resources department after helping support Athletics & Recreation through a significant period of growth and transition.
"Eric has been a valued leader for our department during an important time for Athletics & Recreation," said Jeppesen. "We are grateful for the care, professionalism and steady support he brought to this role, and we thank him for his contributions over the past two varsity seasons."
