Teja McCormick opened the 2026-27 OUA season with an outstanding performance, helping the McMaster Marauders secure a commanding 90-34 victory over the Nipissing Lakers at Burridge Gymnasium on Friday.
McCormick recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, including seven offensive boards, in just 20 minutes of action.
The Marauder forward was remarkably efficient offensively, shooting 7-for-8 from the field while adding one assist and one steal. Her presence in the paint helped McMaster dominate the rebounding battle 50-24 and generate 17 second-chance points.
McCormick's performance provided a strong foundation for the Marauders as they opened their OUA campaign with a convincing victory on home court.
Ethan Cagalj | Men's Soccer
Ethan Cagalj delivered a pair of standout performances between the posts last week, helping the McMaster Marauders men's soccer team secure two postseason victories and advance to the OUA Semifinals.
The fifth-year goalkeeper opened the week with a clean sheet in McMaster's commanding 3-0 victory over the Brock Badgers in the OUA First Round on Wednesday. Cagalj played all 90 minutes, recording one save while anchoring a defensive effort that limited Brock to just one shot on goal.
Cagalj followed that performance with an outstanding showing against the Western Mustangs in Saturday's OUA Quarterfinal. Facing 18 shots, including nine on target, he recorded eight saves across 120 minutes of action to keep the Marauders within reach in a tightly contested 1-1 draw.
With the match heading to penalties, Cagalj delivered the decisive moment, turning aside Western's final attempt from Ennis Bernaus to secure a 4-3 shootout victory and send McMaster into the OUA Semifinals.
Across the two playoff matches, Cagalj recorded nine saves, one clean sheet and just one goal conceded over 210 minutes of action, playing a pivotal role in extending the Marauders' postseason run.
