HAMILTON, Ont. – McMaster Marauders
Brendan Amoyaw (Winnipeg, Man.), was selected by the Winnipeg Sea Bears in the third round, 25th overall, of the 2025 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) Draft.
The 6'9 forward is coming off a strong season with the Marauders, where he made key contributions to the team's success. In the 2024-25 season, Amoyaw averaged 18.9 minutes per game, scoring 178 points, recording 20 blocks, and tallying 12 steals, solidifying his role as an important player on the team.
The Winnipeg Sea Bears finished fourth in the Western Conference in the 2024 season and were exceptional at home with an 8-2 record. The team also set a CEBL attendance record, drawing 86,257 fans to the Canada Life Centre throughout the season – an exciting atmosphere for Amoyaw to join.
Sea Bears head coach Mike Taylor, shared his excitement about Amoyaw selection. "Brendan is a young and athletic big man looking to take the next step. He's a high-character, intelligent player, and we're really excited to have him join our team," said Taylor.
Amoyaw expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to play for the Sea Bears and further his basketball career.
