Hamilton, Ont. - McMaster teams finished off a busy week of action across multiple sports with volleyball delivered standout performances, as the men and women swept their back-to-back matches against Guelph. Beyond the court, the Marauders were in action across several sports, including figure skating at the Western Fall Invitational, a 16–15 water polo win over Western, and swimming at the Divisional Championships in St. Catharines.

The McMaster Marauders put together strong stretches on Wednesday night at the GGAC, but a difficult fourth quarter proved costly in a 75-100 road result against the Guelph Gryphons.
McMaster's offense was led by Ares Culley-Bremner (Hamilton, Ont.), who delivered an outstanding all-around performance with 18 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and an impressive seven blocks while shooting 7-for-8 from the field. Jeremiah Francis (Surrey, B.C.) matched him with 18 points of his own, knocking down a three and adding four rebounds, two assists, and two steals while playing 29 minutes.
The Marauders also saw scoring from across the roster. Tyler Garcia (Mississauga, Ont.) reached double figures with 10 points and dished out six assists while grabbing five rebounds. Riley Bleich (Fonthill, Ont.) added 11 points, including a pair of threes, along with four boards. James Kelly (Toronto, Ont.) contributed an efficient 6-point outing with two steals, while Jacyn Taylor (Pickering, Ont.), Isaiah Flores (Whitby, Ont.), and Riaz Saliu (Oshawa, Ont.) all added key minutes and ball movement off the bench.
After a competitive opening quarter, McMaster generated its strongest frame in the third, putting up 26 points behind aggressive drives from Francis and contributions in the paint from Culley-Bremner. The Marauders continued to battle in the fourth, but turnovers throughout the night made it difficult to sustain momentum.
Women's Basketball
November 19 - L: 65-73 vs Guelph | Box Score
The McMaster Marauders women's basketball team put together a determined effort on Wednesday night at the GGAC, but a late push from the Guelph Gryphons resulted in a 73-65 final.
McMaster established balanced scoring throughout the evening, with Grace Ammendolia (Hamilton, Ont.), Emily Frankovic (Thornhill Ont.), and Sophia Urosevic (Kitchener, Ont.) each finishing with over 11 points. Ammendolia added seven rebounds and a block while providing consistent energy on both ends of the floor. Frankovic delivered one of her most complete performances of the season, contributing eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Urosevic knocked down two threes and added four rebounds in another steady outing.
The Marauders also received a lift from their depth, including Teja McCormick (Toronto, Ont.) , who went 3-for-4 from the field and grabbed five rebounds, and A'mya Rawlins-Thomas (Ajax, Ont.), who chipped in four points and four assists off the bench. Tayler Scott (Burlington, Ont.) added eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocks as she continued to anchor McMaster's defensive presence in the paint.
McMaster battled through a tightly contested first half, trailing by just four at the break. The Marauders continued to chip away in the third quarter, with timely baskets from Ammendolia and Frankovic keeping the gap within reach. Despite several late pushes in the fourth, the Gryphons held on in the final minutes.
McMaster now has a ten day break between games and will look to prepare for their next matchup against the Queen's Gaels.
Men's Volleyball

The McMaster Marauders faced off against the Guelph Gryphons at Burridge Gymnasium on Friday night in a thrilling five-set match. Set 1 saw the Marauders start strong, scoring the first point and then following up with consecutive attacks from No. 6 that put them ahead early. Key plays from Matthew Ruhosi (Toronto, Ont.), including a sharp dig that pushed Guelph out of bounds, helped extend the lead. At the same time, Seth O'Brien (Kingston, Ont.) and Matthias Cooper (Hamilton, Ont.) added powerful attacks to keep the crowd roaring. Despite McMaster's momentum and a late block from Ashton Fox-Kristensen (Elora, Ont.) Guelph rallied late to take the set 25–20.
In Set 2, McMaster held the lead early on with solid attacks from Mekhi Fitzgerald (Milton, Ont.) and O'Brien, but Guelph fought back to edge out the set 25–23, tying the match 1–1.
Set 3 saw McMaster regain control. The Marauders jumped to an early lead, with Fitzgerald delivering multiple attacks and a key block, supported by strong setups from Ronan Huth (Edmonton, Alta.) and finishes from O'Brien. McMaster held a commanding 10-point lead late in the set and closed it out 25–17.
The fourth set was tightly contested, with the teams trading leads throughout. The Marauders' Michael Rendulic (Stoney Creek, Ont.) and Fox-Kristensen delivered crucial attacks, while pushing Guelph out of bounds, evened the score at 22–22. With the crowd on edge, McMaster pulled ahead 26–24 after a decisive block from Fitzgerald, tying the match at 2–2.
In the final set, the Marauders and Gryphons battled point-for-point early on. Fitzgerald and O'Brien made key kills to widen the gap, forcing a timeout from Guelph. Cooper sealed the match with a final winning attack, giving McMaster a thrilling 3–2 victory.
November 22 - W: 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) vs Guelph | Box Score
The McMaster Marauders (3-5) returned to Burridge Gymnasium on Saturday evening and secured a 3-0 sweep over the Guelph Gryphons (5-5).
McMaster opened the first set with strong swings from Seth O'Brien (Kingston, Ont.), while rising intensity on both sides kept the score tight. Gaining a slight edge, Michael Rendulic (Stoney Creek, Ont.) and Mekhi Fitzgerald (Milton, Ont.) combined for a block that helped the Marauders stay in front, and with steady side-outs in the final points, they closed out the set 25-23. The second set followed a similar rhythm, with O'Brien delivering an ace that gave McMaster a one-point lead in another back-and-forth frame. The Marauders held their composure late to take the set 25-22. Pressure ramped up in the third, and after Marauders opened the scoring, Fitzgerald added an ace that pushed McMaster ahead despite a late Guelph surge. In another tight finish, McMaster sealed the 25-22 win to complete the sweep of the Gryphons.

The McMaster Marauders faced off against the Guelph Gryphons at Burridge Gymnasium for their second home game of the season on Friday night. McMaster wasted no time setting the tone in the opening set, striking first and building steady momentum. Midway through, the Marauders pushed back from a small gap, and an explosive attack from Maddy Lutes (Barrie, Ont.) capped off a long, intense rally. With Lauren Pastor (Toronto, Ont.) delivering a well-timed set during a tense moment, Mac held control and closed the set 25–20 to take a 1–0 lead.
In the second set, Lutes opened with another strong attack as McMaster chipped away at Guelph's early edge. Consistent hitting swung the momentum fully back to the Marauders, who held a 12–10 lead. A big block from Abby Delamere (Toronto, Ont.) kept the pressure on, and although Guelph managed to tie things up, McMaster stayed composed. Delamere answered with a powerful attack to reclaim the lead, and McMaster finished the set 25–23, going up 2–0.
Set three delivered the tightest battle of the night. A clutch dig from Jennifer Wu (Burlington, Ont.) kept an early rally alive, and an attack from Olivia Julien (Toronto, Ont.) tied the frame 5–5. McMaster then inched ahead 13–11, with Julien adding back-to-back rockets to keep the Marauders in front. Delamere hammered down another massive attack, followed by a key swing from Lutes as the teams traded points. The crowd at Burridge was on edge as both sides battled point-for-point, but McMaster held strong and took the set 25–23. The Marauders closed out the match in straight sets, earning a 3–0 win.
November 22 - W: 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-21) vs Guelph | Box Score
The McMaster Marauders (7-1) earned a home-court 3-0 sweep over the Guelph Gryphons (7-5) on Saturday evening.
Eva Lin (Markham, Ont.) opened the scoring early in the first set to give the Marauders the advantage, and with strong rallies featuring key plays, Ava Connelly (Ancaster, Ont.) put down a kill that pushed McMaster ahead by four. Lauren Pastor (Toronto, Ont.) and Kailee Young (Toronto, Ont.) each added an ace to help secure the 25-16 win. Momentum carried into the second set as Abby Delamere (Toronto, Ont.) served an ace to get McMaster on the board, and although Guelph applied pressure to keep pace, McMaster held firm. Sydney Zakutney (Ottawa, Ont.) delivered another ace to extend the lead as McMaster closed out the set 25-19. The third set opened with controlled, back-and-forth rallies before Lin added an ace, but the Gryphons briefly pulled ahead. A block by Delamere and Maddy Lutes (Barrie, Ont.) knotted the score at 20-20, setting up a tight finish. McMaster held steady to take the set 25-21 and complete the sweep.
