HAMILTON, Ont. — McMaster's Will Weist (track) and Senuki Dasanayaka (wrestling) have earned Marauder Athlete of the Week honours for their outstanding performances over the weekend.

Men's Track – Will Weist (Toronto, Ont.)
On Saturday, the McMaster track team travelled to Windsor, Ont., for the Can-Am Track Classic. Third-year runner Weist led the charge for the Marauders, winning gold in the men's 3000-metre open with a time of 8:29.19. In the final 800 metres, Weist moved from third to first place, securing the victory. He also recorded the fastest 1000-metre split of the day with an impressive time of 2:34.55.

Women's Wrestling – Senuki Dasanayaka (Brampton, Ont.)
The third-year neuroscience and behaviour student earned 10 team points and claimed a spot atop the podium at the Brock Open last Saturday. Competing in the 56kg weight class, Dasanayaka defeated her Queen's opponent in the first round by technical fall. She secured her second win of the day with a fall (1:41). In the final round, Dasanayaka delivered another dominant performance, winning by technical fall to take the first-place title.
