SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Shooting an impressive 45% from 3-point range, the Marauders earned a convincing 86-65 victory, dropping the Algoma Thunderbirds on the road.
With the post-season just three weeks away, both teams started the game with some intensity. After the opening 10 minutes of play, the Marauders led Algoma 19-14.
The Thunderbirds opened the scoring in the second frame but McMaster rolled in the closing minutes of the half to take a 45-29 advantage into the break.
In the third quarter, the Marauder defense held Algoma to just 11 points while scoring 24 of their own to hold a 29 points lead headed into the fourth.
The Marauders continued to drive the basket in the closing frame which proved to be the difference for McMaster who took the game by a final score of 86-65.
Moody Qasim posted a game high 21 points while
Mike Demagus and
Nathan Charles combined for 24 points in the victory.

The Marauders will now face the Waterloo Warriors on the road and the Brock Badgers at home in the second last weekend of the regular season.
