Marauders drop road contest to Waterloo

WATERLOO, Ont. - The McMaster men's basketball team dropped a 64-51 decision to the Waterloo Warriors in the final road game of the regular season.

In a tough shooting contest, Eligaj Bethune led the Marauders with 11 points while also contributing two rebounds and two steals. Nathan Charles and AY Osunde finished the game with a combined 18 points. The Warriors were led by Josh Akuamoah who recorded 28 points off the bench.

The Marauders shot 28.8% from the field, including just four from outside the arc on 23 attempts. In a sloppy game, both teams totaled 17 turnovers but points off the bench proved to be the difference with Waterloo putting up 33 while holding McMaster to just 8.

With just three games left in the regular season and the push for the playoffs on, the Marauders will have to rebound from Friday night's loss to contend with a tough Brock Badgers squad in Burridge on Saturday night.
